Everyday you wake up and start the same routine and the ending goal is to be attractive – maybe more attractive than yesterday. Maybe you put on some mascara, maybe some gloss and some blush and look exactly the same as you do everyday. Every now and then, it’s time for a cosmetics overhaul to keep your look fresh and current. This season makeup is bold and dramatic. Here’s our tried and tested picks to add some seriously sexy colours to your look:

Wet/Dry Eyeshadow:
Try Bourjois wet and dry eye shadows. Watch what a little water will do for that nock ‘em-dead look.

Glitter Eyeshadow:
Try some powder eye shadows from MANIC PANIC. These richly satisfying long-wearing eye shadows are packed with pigment and micro glitter. Buy single colours or paint box palettes.

Coloured Eyelash Mascara:
Be daring and try some Stargazer Mascara. A variety of colours are available. Colours like turquoise, violet, red, white, blue, and pink. If you just want a hint of colour on the lashes, apply it just on the tips.

3D Mascara:

I’m sure you remember those ‘mood rings’ of the 90s that always stayed the same murky colour but don’t fret – your lips will look anything but murky.

Make sure a concealer or make up matches your skin. See how it looks in bright light or sunlight. It should blend so well that it seems transparent on the skin, yet it hides the desired areas. A more natural look is when you use sheer layers. Here are some tips to get the best results out of concealer:

Tip 1 - Put a small amount on your fourth fingertip. Dot it on and move from the outside corner of the eye inward, and back out again.

Tip 2 – Concealer can be used over or under foundation, whichever way you choose, be sure to blend, blend and blend. While you are blending, be gentle to your skin. A triangular makeup sponge can be used to blend in a gentle back-and-forth dotting motion.

Tip 3 - Always prep dry skin with moisturizer before applying.

Tip 4 - Don’t use concealer on freckles and pigmentations unless you really need to because they may require heavier layers which could make them look worse.

Tip 5 – When it comes to dark circles, use your fingertips for the under eye area. Use a shade lighter than your foundation if they are recessed. Use a bit darker if they are puffy.

Tip 6 – To hide spider veins, you will need a yellow-based concealer.

Tip 7 – Don’t forget the most susceptible areas like the nose bridge, corner of mouth and outer corner of eyes. These areas need special attention while applying concealer.

Tip 8 - Apply concealer sparingly. It shouldn’t be cakey or thick.

Tip 9- After applying, smile into the mirror and check that you applied the concealer evenly. Blot gently with a tissue over uneven spots.

Tip 10 – After you have finished, lightly brush with a sheer translucent powder. This will set your concealer.

Tip 11 - Always have two concealers. Have one for your tanned days whether from a tanning booth or from the sun, and one for your normal skin tone.

Tip 12 - Do not keep concealer or other cosmetics for more than a year. It could harbor bacteria which will cause your face to break out

Every woman knows that their make up bag is a must have item that they cannot leave the house without, here are a few make up must haves that are essential to every woman!

1. Mascara:

If you need to thicken those eyelashes or get them defined…do not forget to pack your mascara! One mascara that I would recommend using is Bourjour: Easy Water Proof Mascara. Another ‘great’ fact is that eyeliners will definitely highlight the beauty and bring out the colour in a womens eyes, so if you are looking to get that male attention, don’t forget. An eyeliner that I would recommend is Urban Decay: Zero Glide On Pencil. This cushiony, black coloured eye pencil slides smooth and stays soft and creamy for blending, dries and is long-lasting.

3. Lipstick:

You guest it, ‘The Lippy’…There are various affordable lip sticks on the market ranging from Maybelline, Aveda and Bloom. Some of the most popular types of lipstick on the market are sheer, satin and frost. The colors and prices for lipstick vary greatly also. Another great recommendation is Bourjois: Dr Glamour Lipstick. This lipstick is enriched with mango and shea butter, the lipstick gives great coverage, while giving you that seductive and sophisticated look!

4. Eye Shadow:

Good eye shadow adds alot of depth and dimension to a womans eyes, it also brings out a womans eye color, or simply draws a males attention to the eyes. Eye shadow comes in various different colors and textures, and can also be found in liquid, pencil, or a mousse form.
